“Veni, vidi, vici…..Veni, vidi, vici.” Julius Caesar was an ambitious military commander. He controled Rome’s politics with Pompey for a while. In 59 b.c. him and his army set out to make new conquests. After nine years he completed the conquest of Gual, which is now France. He didnt listen to Pompey to stop the fighting and secretly kept on fighting and that lead to a civil war. He moved around saying ” Veni, vidi, vici” which is a faming saying “I came, I saw, I conquered.” He then came back and forced the senate to make him dictator. He was the absolute ruler of Rome.
